Graham Platner, Outside of Collins’ Office at One Canal Plaza for Rally onThursday, January 29, 2026
Graham Platner, 41, US Senate candidate from Maine, met with over 100 volunteers this afternoon at the VFW Post, 687 Forest Avenue, Portland to plan strategies for the upcoming democratic primary on June 9, 2026. Graham told the crowd of supporters that “organizing is hard work,” but it has to be done.” Part of his campaign’s goal discussed today is to get his platform to be part of the DNC platform.
His goals include, but are not limited to: Lowering the cost of healthcare and protecting rural hospitals; Reducing soaring energy costs; getting dark money ouf of politics, increasing access to affordable housing; protecting the environment and working waterfront; ending taxpayer-funded endless wars and cracking down on corporate price gouging.
Recently Graham announced that his campaign has raised almost $8 million in contributions. This afternoon Governor Mills’, 78, campaign manager Chelsea Brossard announced that the Governor’s campaign has raised $2.7 million. Her platform or agenda has not been made public. It may be to maintain the status quo.
The two democrats Graham Platner and Governor Janet T. Mills share a common goal: to defeat incumbent Senator Susan Collins (R) and an ally of Dictator Trump in November 2026. Back in early February of 2020, “The New York Times” columnist Paul Krugman called Collins a “fake moderate.” Around the same time, “Times” columnist Gail Collins called out Senator Collins, 73, for saying that she voted to acquit Trump because he’s “learned from this case.” Remember that?!
