Governor Janet T. Mills (D), the first woman governor of Maine and its first woman attorney general, will participate in the National Governors Association’s (NGA) first convening of the Chairs’ Initiative, “Disagree Better” focused on helping Americans to bridge the partisan divide. It runs from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm at the Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Launched in July, the NGA Chair Utah Governor Spencer Cox, “Disagree Better” is a year-long initiative that brings together bipartisan governors to model a new positive and optimistic way of working through public debates, service projects. public service announcements and more.
Centered on the theme of Correcting Misrepresentations and Highlighting Commuities, the convening will feature panel discussions with bipartisan experts leading nationwide efforts to reduce partisan animosity and foster healthy conflict; a debate facilitated by Braver Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to political depolarization; and a service project,” Show up for Teachers.”
