Friends of Congress Square Park will receive a grant of $6,000 for public programming such as concerts, films, markets and to expand its winter programming according to a press release received from Maine Community Foundation’s (MaineCF) Rines Thompson Fund this morning.  The Maine Audubon Society has also been awarded $5,000. to engage children in earning about and restoring green spaces near their homes and schools.   Another $7,500. went to Portland Parks Conservancy, for its second year of the Portland Youth Corps.  The program gives teens opportunities to care for the environment
