Forty Six Maine Businesses to Receive Grants to Strengthen US Sales Says Governor

Governor Janet T. Mills (D) Giving Her State of the State Address to the Maine Legislature Earlier This Year.

Governor Janet T. Mills (D) announced today that 46 Maine businesses have been awarded $2.9 million in grants to increase sales of Maine made products across the US.  Grants announced today will help Maine companies expand domestic sales of Maine made products ranging from artisan cheese and coffee to forest products and speciality manufactured goods.’

“The Domestic Trade Program” is helping folks across America learn what Maine people have known for years:   Maine made products are the best in the world,” said Governor Mills.  “These investments will help Maine producers of every thing from soap to surfboards effectively market their products, create jobs and strengthen the Maine economy,”

Several of those 46 businesses in southern Maine include:  Atlantic Sea Farms, Downtown Westbrook, Fresh Pickens Farm, Maine Coast Fisherman’s Association, Grain Surfboards, Guided Makers, Harvesting Good, Local Goods Gathered and Maine & Company.  Obviously. there are many more all over the state of Maine who have been accepted to receive these grants.

The funds come from the Governor’s Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan.  This is Round Two of the distribution.
