NBC News: “Focus Groups: Dissatisfied Democratic Voters Hunt for Winners to Pull the Party Forward” Reports Platner Campaign

Mainers Want Fresh New Faces to Repesent them in Washington, DC Such as Oyster Farmer and US Marine Vet Graham Platner, 41.  He Served Three Deployments in Iraq as a US Maraine and one Deployent with the  Natdional Guard in Afghanistan.

One of Numerous Signs at the NO KINGS Rally in June 2025 Calling Out Collins for Doing Nothing to Stand up to Trump Authoriatism.

New reporting shows that every Maine primary voter in a NBC News’ focus group supported Graham Platner in the Democratic primary, pointing to his authenticity, fearlessness and “unpolished” brand.  In the focus group, participants were then shown an attack ad from Governor Mills — none of the seven participants changed their mind about who they will vote for.

This focus group comes as Graham Platner’s momentum continues to grow.  He has now held 55 town halls across Maine, while incumbent Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) hasn’t held a town hall since Bill Clinton was president.

Last week alone, Graham traveled over 500 miles, co-hosting a Seder in Bath, drawing a “huge turnout” of more than 400 people at a candidate forum in Fryeburg, visiting local businesses in Lewiston and finishing the week with a town hall in Bethel.  That momentum continued this week with Graham traveling over 300 miles in three days to host town halls in Windham, Augusta and Orono.  Over 500 Mainers showed up to hear from Graham, ask questions and join his “working class coalition.”

“Our events are open to the public.  Anybody can come.  We don’t screen questions,” said Graham.  “People can just come and ask whatever question they want and for me. it’s pretty fundamental to my politics, which is that if you’re going to represent the working people of Maine, you need to go out into working communities and make yourself accessible.”

From cities like Portland and Augusta to towns like Greenville and Allagash, Graham is bringing his campaign directly to Mainers.

While Graham was on the road meeting with voters, the campaign also launched two new ads sharing his message on TV and online, drawing a clear contrast with Susan  Collins’ record and calling out her support for the Iran War, her corruption and her ties to big money and special interests.  With less than two months of the primary, Platner is continuing to build a broad, energized coalition of Mainers ready to take on and defeat Susan Collins.

On March 15, 2025, this blogger spoke with Aidan a member of the Collins’ DC office staff.  The purpose of the call was to determine why the Senator does not hold town halls in Maine.  Aidan responded:  She doesn’t need to hold town halls because she has access to the local newspaper.  As this blogger wrote at the time, a forum where no serious questions are asked that might embarrass the Senator.  No follow-up questions are asked from the “Republilcan Press Herald” either that would require some thought. Isn’t that the local newspaper that has gotten so expensive that fewer and fewer people are reading it? Or maybe because of the rise in popularity in social media?  Silence from Aidan.  Please feel free to visit this uncontested story dated March 15, 2025 herein.
