Traffic Was Slowed to a Crawl Today at Corner of Portland and Preble Streets.

Just after noon today, a Portland Fire Department Truck backed into a water main at a construction site on Preble Street.

The water came gushing down Preble Street and flooded onto Portland Street – slowing traffic dramatically.

Frank Badger who was watching from the Preble Street Resource Center front yard said:  “Look at all this wasted water.  People pay a pretty penny for water.  What a shame.”
