Fire on West End Displaces Eleven Tenants Early This Mornng

This morning at 4:41 am., the Portland Fire Department was called to 59 Bramhall Street for a building fire.  Crews arrived to find fire coming from multiple top floor windows in a nine unit multi-family apartment building.  There were working smoke alarms throughout the building.  The bulk of the fire was knocked down by 4:57 am.

There were no injuries to residents or firefighters, though two occupants of the bilding were evaluated on scene.  Eleven people have been displaced from the building and are being assisted by the Red Cross.  Roads were shut down in the area, but are reopened at this time

The fire has been determed to be accidental.
