On Monday, February 2, 2026 at about 3:40 pm., members of the Maine State Police Central Field Troop responded to a head-on collision on Route 3 in Vassalboro near Ritch Road.

The crash involved a Chevy Silverado pickup truck operaed by Ran Page, 48, of China and a Ford F-650 commercial motor vehicle operated by Douglas Bolvin, 64, of Jay.

The initial investigation indicates the operator of the pickup truck crossed the center line.  The commercial motor vehicle operator steered to the right in an attempt to avoid the pickup truck, but was unable to compleely avoid it.  Ryan Page succumbed to his injuries a the scene.  Douglas Bolvin was not injured.  A secondary crash occurred when a third vehicle swerved to avoid the pickup truck, which had come to rest in the roadway and struck a guardrail  The driver reported minor inuries.

The crash remains under investigation according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, for the Maine Department of Public Safety, Augusta.
