On Monday, February 2, 2026, at about 11:15 pm., the Augusta Police Department responded to an incident on Flagg Street in Augusta.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male.  The circumstances surrounding the death are currently under investigation.  The Maine State Police Major Crime Unit – Centeral responded to assist with the investigation.  The deceased has been transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause ad manner of death.

At this time there is no known threat to the public according to a press release received this morning from Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, for the Maine Department of Public Safety, Augusta.
