Munjoy Hill resident Ralph Carmona has decided not to run for City Council for the seat being vacated by Green John Anton as he planned, but rather will run for the Portland School  Board in November.   This afternoon Carmona said that he weighed how he could best serve the city.  He’s also been told that several incumbents will not be running again.  They are :  Kate Snyder and Jamiey Caron.

Carmona is a board member of the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Organization and teaches at SMCC.  He is currently part of the Concerned Citizens who are opposed to the proposed addition to the St. Lawrence Arts Center on the Hill.

Previously he ran for mayor of the city of Portland.
