It Was Hard to Find Any Spooky People Out on This Halloween Day; Perhaps They are all Living at the White House.

Happy Halloween to the
Spooks at the White House!

Today, Thursday, October 31, 2019 is the last day to vote absentee in person at city hall for the upcoming November Mayoral election.  The Clerk’s office will stay open until 7:00 pm to accommodate voters.  The voting is taking place in the State of Maine room on the second floor.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.  All polling places will be open at 7:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.  Residents may register to vote on Election Day with proof of identity and residency.

The ugly rumor mill was working overtime yesterday against the candidate this blogger supports – that gave me even more incentive to exercise my option for early voting at city hall.  State representative Michael Brennan who does not support Mayor Ethan Strimling, among other things, told me to talk to city manager Trumpy Jennings about what the Mayor has “done.”  Brennan doesn’t know?  I explained to Brennan, a former Mayor of Portland, that would not be possible since Trumpy doesn’t respond to my emails to him  – saying he’s too busy when  asked why.  Trumpy does not bother with anyone who doesn’t agree with him.  Been there – experienced it! No second opinions tolerated.

Incidentally, the former Mayor of Portland, Michael Brennan did not support Governor Janet T. Mills, the first woman governor of Maine,  for her historic election.  As the saying goes, “that speaks volumes.”

This is a Trumpy Jennings vs. Mayor Strimling race.  Trumpy needs to get over it and move on….
