The Cumberland County Courthouse was evacuated at approximately 10:15 am this mornng after bomb threats had been emailed dto the courthouse. Out of an abundance of caution, the Portland Police Department called in one of the explosive K9 units to sweep the building and nothing was found.
The building was reopened at 11:30 am.
Law enforcement officials in Portland have been in touch with state and fedeeral partners and believe this may be related to the threat that were called into several tate capitol buildings around the country yesterday according to Police Department spokesman Brad Nadeau.
