Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) caved into pressure from Elon Musk when she admitted today that she will vote in favor of the nomination of Russell Vought to be the White House budget czar.
A member of the Senator’s DC senate office staff told this blogger that the Senator believes: “Mr. Vought is clearly well qualified for the job. He’s been an OMB director previously as well as a deputy director. So I think that whether one agrees with his philisophy, its pretty hard to argue that he’s not qualified. I give a certain amount of deference to a President to assemble his own team.” Even if that person is opposed to democracy?
“Confirming the most radical nominee, who has the most extreme agenda, to the most important agency in Washington is a triple header of a disaster for hardworking Americans,” said Senate Leader Chuck Schumer, (D-NY).
“Once again Senator Collins (R) is demonstrating that she is unpredictable, inconsistent and easily manipulated in making her decisions. She doesn’t deserve to be returned to the Senate next year,” said this blogger. “Watch how she votes and not what she says.”
Vought is the Chief Architect of the alarming “Project 2025”. That’s the same document that Convicted Felon Trump has said he had never read and had no interest in. Vought has said that the US is in a “post-constitutional” time; in other words, a dictatorship. Vought has also said that he wants to cause federal employees to experience “trauma” so they don’t want to go to work. If you are opposed to the Senator’s support for Vought, please feel free to call her Washington, DC office at 202 – 224-2523 and let her staff know how you feel about her vote. The phone number for her Portland office is: 207 – 618-5560.
*2/7/2025: According to several sources, Senator Collins (R-ME) is headed to Mar-a-Lago with other Republicans to meet with CF Trump. It used to be confusing to monitor where the good Senator from Maine sat. For example, she said she would not vote for CF in the last election. Maybe she has regrets about that these days with Elon Musk wielding so much power over her future. This blogger tried to reach the Senator’s DC and Portland offices this afternon to confirm this news worthy news. However, neither office is accepting telephone calls from the public at this time. Could it be too many critical callers for her?
