The second free public tour is of the East End Wastewater Treatment Facility on Thursday, June 7th. starting at 4:30 pm. A second tour of the same Facility starts at 5:30 pm the same day.   The waste water plant receives and treats roughly 20 million gallons of wastewater a day.  By touring the plant, you’ll see what it takes to keep this facility working properly no matter what comes down the pipe.  Operators work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to prevent over 8 million pounds of pollution from entering Casco Bay each year.  Explore the treatment plant, including the most recent $12 million project to upgrade the aeration system and protect Casco Bay!  The facility is located at the end of Marginal Way, under Tukey’s Bridge.
