A citywide parking ban for the city of Portland has been declared beginning at 10:00 pm, tonight, l/ll and ending at 6:00 am, Monday, 1/12. Vehicles left on the street during a ban will be towed at the owner’s expense (tow fee- $70, impound fee-$25, ticket cost – $30, and all outstanding tickets must be paid).
Vehicles will be towed to the city’s impound lot located at the International Marine Terminal on Commercial Street (phone # 774-3025). You may sign up to receive automatic parking ban notices by clicking on www.portlandmaine.gov.
The city has designated certain places where residents can park during this parking ban. Among them are: The lot across from the International Marine Terminal on Commercial Street (at the corner of Park and Commercial Strs); and Cutter Street lots (off Eastern Promenade). Vehicles can begun to be parked at 5:00 pm and are required to be moved by 7 am, 1/12.
