The city manager Jon Jennings has closed city hall and all city buildings for today Tuesday, January 24th due to weather conditions.  It is extremely icy outside.

He has not yet decided whether or not the planning board meetings, that meet at city hall and scheduled for later today,  will go forward.  That decision is important to many Portlanders because on its agenda is the protection ordinance for Ft. Sumner Park on Munjoy Hill and an afternoon workshop on the controversial proposal to build a massive cold storage warehouse on the west end of Commercial Street.
