City employee, Sally DeLuca, cancelled the fireworks spectacular for the Fourth due to severe weather conditions in the area last night. The decision appeared to come well after the weather up here had deteriorated so significantly that most people had long since left the Hill. Torrents of rain and severe thunder and lightning sent eveyone fleeing the Hill quickly.
It has led many to wonder why the decision to cancel the fireworks came so late in the evenin?
Fireworks are rescheduled for Thursday, July 5th at the same time, same place.
