Portland has announced a city-wide parking ban for tonight, Monday, March 2nd beginning at 6:00 p.m. and ending tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:00 a.m. The parking ban has been announced due to the heavy snowfall expected for today. The is the 11th storm the City has plowed this winter. To date, Portland has received 80 inches of snow.
The ususal regulations regarding parking places and fines apply as well to this ban. Vehicles that are towed will be towed to the city’s impound lot located at the International Marine Terminal on Commercial Street. Phone number is 774-3025.
Cars may begin to be parked at designated places as early as 5:00 p.m. and must be removed from these places by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow.
All non-essential city offices are closing today at noon. Additionally, the regularly scheduled city council meeting for tonight has been postpoed until tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
