On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at approximately 2:31 pm., Portland Police responded to a crash at the intersection of Washington Avenue and /Fox Street involving a nine year-old boy and a dump truck according to a press release issued early this evening from the Portland Polce Department.

Witnesses stated the child was attempting to cross the road against the pedestrian crossing signal.  The dump truck driver immediately attempted to stop, but was unable to avoid running over the chlld’s foot.  The chlld was transprted to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening inuires.  No charges have been filed.

The area was affected for approximately 90 minutes while the crash was investigated.  The crash remains under investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
