“Are you looking for a job?” Justin Fundaro asked this blogger stepping across the threshold at 9 Commercial Street today. “No, I’m not,” this very senior citizen responded.
Fundaro is a carpenter whose first day on the job was today at the Brewing Co’s. latest pub, although he has worked for the Brewing Co. owners previously on other projects. Fundaro expects that the new venue will seat about 93 patrons when completed. He hopes that the bar will be made of wood because he says he’s been saving pieces that would make a beautiful one.
Greg Hood, who will serve as the manager of the new Birckyard Hollow Brewing Co. venue arrived for a look around. Hood confirms that the new venue hopes to open in mid-summer. Pizza by Brandon Medeiros will be on the menu. This pub replaces the former Arabica Coffee Shop previously in that location.
Then Hood adds that he is looking for staff to work here. “We are looking for people to fill all restaurant positions,” he adds. Who knew?
In the past writers other than munjoyhillnews.com used to wonder aloud when would the bubble burst on the number of hair salons and coffee shops Portland could support. Mhn.com is asking the same question about the unlimited growth in the number of pubs and brewers that Portland can support. When, and will, the beer bubble burst?
