Donald Cousino, 48, who is homeless, was arrested last night and charged with Aggravated Assault.  He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.

Recapping, on Saturday, November 22, 202 at 8:03 pm., Portland Police responded to Longfellow Square Park for a report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a 66 year old male from Freeport, who was suffering from knife wounds to his face.  He was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. A short time later, officers took Cousino into custody.

The individuals involved were not known to each other and witnesses reported that the attack was unprovoked.
