The neighborhood is invited to an informational meeting to discuss plans for the proposed redevelopment of 58 Fore Street on the Portland waterfront. The meeting is set for Tuesday, September 16th from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the East End Community School, 195 North Street, according to a letter from David Senes, project manager, of Woodard & Curran.
The focus of the meeting will be a zoning map amendment change for the property at 58 Fore Street, formerly Portland Yacht Services. Last year a group of investors, led by Jim Brady, purchased almost 10 acres of land from Phin Sprague, Jr. for $10 M. The stated reason is to construct a mixed-use development on the site of the Portland Complex, the major industrial site in the 1880s in the area.
Renderings of the development plans have not yet been made public.
