42 Atlantic Street on Munjoy Hill Proposal to Convert the Former VFW Bar into Affordable Rental Housing..

The city’s Planning Office announced this morning that it has received a major site plan application from LB Atlantic, LLC to facilitate the construction of a 4-story multi-family building with 30 affordable dwelling units.  The property totals 0.23 acres and is zoned R-6 Residential and located within the Munjoy HIll Historic District.

The property was once a VFW Bar and borders Gilbert Lane on Munjoy HIll.

About 52 neighbors attended a public meeting on the project on March 5, 2024 at The Hill Arts, formerly the St. Lawrence Arts Center, Congress Street, Portland.
