Cole Swan, 18, of Yarmouth, was arrested yesterday afternoon near 58 Alder Street, Portland for illegal drug trafficking and refusing to submit to “Arrest Detention,” according to a press release issued by the Portland Police Department this morning.

His arrest followed what police believed to be a drug transaction in the area of 55 Portland Street.  An attempt to stop Swan led to a foot chase which led to the Alder Street arrest.

Swan was found to be in possesio of two grams of cocaine base as well as a loaded handgun.
