The second, citywide parking ban of the winter was called this morning by the City of Portland. It starts tonight at 10:00 pm tonight, December 30th and ends at 6:00 am tomorrow morning, December 31st. The parking ban has been declared so that Public Service crews can clear and remove snow from today’s storm.
Many secondary streets on the Hill are in serious need of additional plowing and sanding by the city. Merrill Street is in particularly bad shape as is Monument Street and others. Waterville Street is in better condition that most others.
Elegance Hartwick, from Pittsburgh, flew into Portland on December 17th to visit her sister on the HIll. She has had four flights canceled on her – weather related. Tonight she is scheduled to finally leave Portland for Pittsburgh around 8:00 pm.
