On Sunday, December 14, 2025, at approximaely 1:18 am., Troopers were dispatched to reports of a wrong way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike near Kennebunk.  A subsequent 911 call repoted that the vehicle, a white 2023 Honda Civic, had crashed into the median at mile market 24 in Kennebunk.  Troopers responded and located the vehicle.

The operator was not injured, but was evaluated at the scene by Kennebunk Rescue.  The operator showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest.  He was identified as Lester Medina, 22, of Manchester, New Hampshire.  He was transported to the York County Jail.  He was charged with multiple charges.

Southbound lanes one and two were temporrily closed during the investigation that remains ongoing.
