This Chair Was Provided for Senator Collins (R) at a Forum at the Portland Public Library in 2018, Ms. No-“Show Never Showed, But There Were Plenty of Questions for Her Empty Chair! The Event was Hosted by the Non-profit “Sixteen Counties Coalition.”
With only hours until Democatic nominee for US Senate Troy Jackson takes the stage for his first town hall of the general election, Susan Collins still hasn’t RSVP’d according to a press release received from his campaign this afternoon.
Last week, Jackson invited Collins to join him at tonight’s town hall and answer questions directly from Mainers. If Colllins shows up tonight, it would be her first public town hall in 25 years.
“From union halls and picket lines to diners and community events, Troy Jackson has been traveling Maine talking directly with voters about how he’ll fight for working people in Washingtnn. Tonight, he’ll take their questions and answer for where he stands,” said campaign spokesperson Dan Gotlieb. “Susan Collins has spent 25 years avoiding public town halls and hiding from her constituents while voting for a record Mainers deserve answers about. The invitation is still open. It’s time for the No-Show Senator to finally show up.”
SUSAN COLLINS MUST ANSWER FOR HER RECORD:
Susan Collins backed Trump’s war in Iran that has increased the cost of gas and energy,
Collins voted against an amendment to prevent Trump’s tariffs from increasing the cost of groceries and everyday goods,
Collins has repeatedly defended ICE and granted $70 billion in ICE funding with no guardrails,
Collins has a consistent pattern of voting to weaken social security,
Collins voted to confirm Kavanaugh, leading to the overturning of Roe v Wade, despite pleas and warnings from Mainers and said again this summer that she does not regret that vote,
Collins played a key and ‘pivotal” role in passing the QBBA – voting to advance the bill and then once Republicans had the votes, she voted against final passage.
FOR 25 YEARS, MAINERS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SUSAN COLLINS TO ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS AT A PUBLIC TOWN HALL.
Tonight she has another chance!
