Westbrook Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking This Morning; Additional Charges Expected

This morning Christopher Ciprian, 41, of 43 Rochester Street, Westbrook, was taken into custody without incident as he left his apartment at the Rochester Street address.  Due to a number of safety concerns identified during the investigation, to include the seriousness of the drug trafficking charges and Ciprian possibly being armed, the Cumberland County Emergency Services Unit (ESU), was utilized to mnimize the risk to Rochester Street residents and law enforcement personnel by tactically securing the apartment prior to agents conducting a search.

A search of Ciprian’s apartment resulted in the seizure of approximately 80 grams of Cocaine, 30 grams of MDMA, a/k/a Ecstasy, a loaded Glock 9 mm handgun and other evidence of illegal drug trafficking.  The estimated value of drugs found in his possession was $12,000.00.  He was taken to Cumberland County Jail.

Bail is set at $10,000 cash.  Adddtional charges against Ciprian are expected according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, for Maine’s Public Safety Office.
