It has been reported this morning by three US officials that an American F-15 jet has been shot down over Iran.  This jet carries two pilots in its cockpit.  It has also been reported that both pilots ejected and are some where on the ground in Iran,  An early afternoon report is that one of the two pilots has been recovered and is receiving medical care.

Search and rescue teams have been deployed to the area.  This effort puts the search and rescue team at danger as well. That is because rescue helicopters fly slower and noiser than the F-15 jets.

President Trump has been boasting that the US has destroyed all of Iran’s military capabilities.  There have also been more recent reports that Iran has been holding back on some of its military capabilities – the latter appears to be accurate.

The news was initially reported by Iranian news and later confirmed by US officials.

As of early this afternoon, President Trump has issued no statement on his “war of choice” in Iran.  This war has been very unpopular with the American public and members of Congress because he didn’t seek its approval.   This incident will most likely make it even more unpopular.  How will this incident affect the future of the war in Iran do you think?
