Update on City Public Policies; Masks Recommended But Not Required at City Hall

The city of Portland announced this afternoon that efffective today two greeters are located at the Congress Street and Myrtle Street entrances to city hall.  The greeter station is staffed when the building is open to the public – from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm., Monday – Friday.

As of Monday, March 14, masks are recommended, but not required when visiting city hall and the city’s Canco Road facilities.  This applies to members of the public as well as staff.  Masks continue to be required when visiting the Health & Human Services Department, 39 Forest Avenue.

The city’s Treasury Office, which processes auto and boat registrations as well as property tax payments is open by appointment only.  Auto renewals and property tax payments can be paid online and those wishing to drop off property tax payments in person can leave them in a secure drop box at the Congress Street entrance.  The second installment of FY22 property tax payments is due Friday, March 18th.

The city clerk’s office and parking office are open for walk-in service.  The city clerk’s office can be accessed via either the Congress Street or Myrtle Street entrance and the parking office is best reached via the Myrtle Street entrance.  Remaining city services can be accessed either online or by checking in at one of the greeter stations.

The vaccination policy remains in place for now.
