Upcoming Overnight Parking Ban on Some of Congress Street

From  August 24th to August 27th between 8:00 pm – 6:00 am nightly, there will be an overnight parking ban on Congress Street between Pearl Street and St. John Street.  That’s because MaineDOT will be conducting LIDAR roadway scanning in that area of Portand.  It’s part of planning for a future pavement preservation project.  For this work to be completed safely and efficiently, an overnight parking ban will be in effect on those dates.

Specifically, parking will be restricted on one sisde of the street at a time, similar to bi-weekly maintenance.   The ban will be lifted on each side once scanning is complete.  Please watch for official no-parking sign, which will be posed aroud August 20 – 21.

Vehicles parked in restricted arreas may be tiketed and fowed at the owner’s expense according to a press release received early this afternoon.
