Nope, it’s not over yet folks – this is NOT a good news story!

Unitil, or its contractor, NEUCO,will continue to work on the East End of Portland for another six weeks according to information made available to customers in the area recently.

Installation of new gas mains and services will happen on Sheridan Street, Anderson Street, East Cove Street, Fox Street, Greenleaf Street Gould Street, Hammond Street, Marion Street and Montgomery Street on the East End. All these streets will not be impacted at once.  The work will be phased to progress from one street towards another during the course of this project.  Construction is expected to take approximately 6 weeks to complete, beginning in early August.

Work hours will be weekdays between 7 am to 7 pm.  On-street parking will be affected during construction, but those affected will always have access to their property. All traffic will be directed by the flaggers with one lane open.  Emerency vehicles will be permitted at all times.
