The Penguins of Heard Island Were not Spared one of Trump’s Tariffs Originally. Maybe That Has Changed Now.

Over the Weekend Avocados Cost $1.79 Each at Shaw’s in Falmouth on US Route 1. . Is This What You Voted for?
Convicted Felon Trump has authorized a 90 day pause on most tariffs it was announced on cable news this afternoon. There is an exception to the pause and that is China. That tariff has been increased to 125%.
The Dow Jones has surged upward over 2,100 points and soaring upward with its biggest rally in five years. A 10% baseline tariff will be imposed on most countries. When former President Joe Biden left the White House, the stock market was up to 45,000.
According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent 75 nations have said they want to negotiate with the White House and that CF wants to be involved in all of them. But, the White House refused to release the names of those nations who is claimed to be wanting to negotiate. Bessent and Leavitt said this pause was due to the great negotiation skills of CF. The duo is trying to put a good spin on his disastrous trade war – saying this change is because of CF’s “art of the deal” skills. Republican politicians are trying to put a positive spin on this disaster.
However, cable news economic experts are telling a different story. Some are saying that this reversal is due to political pressure from Senators who are up for re-election next year. This may be CF’s off-ramp. Another cable news economic expert said that CF just “blinked. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. America is no longer a safe haven. It takes a long time to build up trust and it can be destroyed very quickly.” One cable news anchor said this is the “art of stupidity rather than the art of the deal.”
“The economic uncertainity that will continue has a negative effect on the hospitality industry and the restaurant business,” according to several Democrats on Capitol Hill. Trump calls the uncertainity – “flexibility.” In the past CF has said he doesn’t follow the Dow. Today he admitted that he did watch the Dow as well as the bond market. The bond market sell off was the motivating factor for his pause. CF admitted that the crashing of the market was the factor that motivated him to put the 90 pause in place. People were getting “yippy”and “queasy” he said.
Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) has called for an investigation into potential “insider trading” at the White House. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) also called for a “insider investigation” saying the opportunity for corruption was there.
“Don’t let CF near the nuclear code. That mistake can’t be reversed,” says this blogger. The Dow Jones ended up almost 3,000 points by the end of the day.
