Today, Saturday, May 15th is the third and last day of a three day food drive to benefit Wayside Kitchen & Food Rescue. The food drive takes place at Whole Foods Market at 2 Somerset Street, Portland from 9 am until 7 pm.
Wayside asks the public to please support local hunger relief efforts by shopping at Whole Foods Market during this last day of the drive. Wayside staff and volunteers will be distributing shopping lists to customers at the entrance to the store today. Shoppers are asked to consider purchasing one or more items from the list which have been identified with small signs by Whole Foods. Please leave your donations with the Wayside crew on the way out of the store.
All donations will benefit Wayside Food Programs including the prepared meal service, Mobile Food Pantires and the 51 other area pantries and agencies in southern Maine who receive food from Wayside free of charge.
