Governor Janet D. Mills, (D) will participate in the National Governors Association (NGA) Annual Winter Meeting starting Friday, January 28th through Monday, January 31, 2022 in Washington, D.C.  The Winter Meeting offers the nation’s governors a forum to meet with Federal leaders to discuss issues each governor is confronting in their state and to share innovative solutions.

During the meeting, Governors will join Cabinet Secretaries and leaders from business, academia, and philanthropy for solutions-driven conversations around the top issues in states and territories, including the COVID-19 pandemic.  Governors are also expected to discuss best practices and bipartisan collaboration on other leading policy issues, incuding infrastructure, computer science education and cybersecurity, as well as the importance of bipartisan leadership.

Governor Mills will also formally invite her fellow Governors to attend the 2022 NGA Summer Meeting, which will be held in Portland in July 2022.  If mhn.com’s  memory is correct, Governor Mills was to have hosted the annual summer meeting here in Portland previously.  But because of the pandemic, it was postponed.
