Portland Police Detectives are investigating a series of residential burglaries in the Parkside and West End neighborhoods. Over the past week, there have been six burglaries to apartments in these areas. All burglaries have occurred during the day time and early evening hours and entry was gained cutting/removing screens or entering opened or unlocked windows. In one of the incidents, the resident was asleep in a bedroom while the suspect entered via a living room window. Items stolen include electronics and cash.
Portland Police are asking residents to be vigilant of their surroundings and to ensure their windows are closed and locked whenever they leave. Please record serial numbers and take photos of valuables in order to assist with the recovery of stolen property. If you see suspicious individuals in your neighborhood, call police.
For emergency calls, please contact the Portland Police Communications center by dialing 911 or at 874-8575 for non-emergencies. Anyone with investigative information, please contact the Portland Police Detective Bureau at 207 – 874-8533.
