It’s Been Reported that ICE Agents Now are Equipped With Body Cameras; Let’s Hope that Someone Instructed them to Turn Them On.
This month, Planned Parenthood Votes launched the first push of a digital ad campaign totaling over $600,000 to highlight Maine voters’ disapproval of Senator Susan Collins’ anti-abortion votes, including her vote to confirm Brett Kavanagh. This vote paved the way for the US Supreme Court to end our federal right to abortion — a decision she said recently she doesn’t regret.
“Susan Collins has betrayed Maine values time and again and these ads elevate the voices of Maine women who can’t bring themselves to give her the benefit of the doubt again,” said Lisa Margulies, Maine spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Votes. “Our goal is simple with this campaign: Broadcast the voices of Mainers who care about abortion and reproductive rights and through them, highlight the harm Senator Collins has helped inflict in Maine and across the country.”
“The new ads feature Maine women discussing the impact of Senator Collins’s betrayal which has included voting to confirm President Trump’s judicial appointments 94% of the time during his second term. Maine voters will see ads on YouTube, Meta platforms, in-market surveys, programmatic videos and connected TVs. Planned Parenthood Votes will also launch a mail campaign ahead of the November election.
This investment from Planned Parenthood Votes comes as part of Planned Parenthood advocacy and political orgnizations’ $47 million “We Decide” electoral campaign. The campaign aims to unseat lawmaakers who “defunded” Planned Parenthood, take power back in key battleground states with races up and down the ballot, and building support for a lasting durable right to abortion.
