A Gray Car Being Towed From the Scene of the Accident This Morning.

Fifty-five year old Steven Patten, Portland, was crossing Franklin Street this morning at about 9:45  when he was struck by a car.  Patten’s injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening according to a press release issued by the city.

The driver of the car was sixty year old Ralph Field, Portland.  Field, who was driving a gray Toyota Pruis, has been charged with operating under the influence of drugs.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation.  Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Portland Police Department Traffic Unit at 874-8532.
