As of the writing of this post, a section of 75 Wasghington Avenue on Munjoy Hill remains closed because it is a “hot zone” according to a fire department official on site.
Earlier this afternoon a carbon monoxide alarm sounded at an empty bay at 75 Washington Avenue. Staff at the close by Maine Mead Works were instructed to vacate the premises until the elevated levels of monoxide were back to normal.
Later this afternoon Maine Mead Works employees were told the tasting room could re-open although the warehouse areas were still closed to the public because of the continued elevation of carbon monoxide.
