Three close friends decided to pool their considerable talents and other assets and invest them in their first retail venture – that’s at the black boxes at 93 Washington Avenue on Munjoy HIll.
That’s how Campfire Studio Mulxiply came together. It’s a boutique for outstanding jewelry, felted animals and bags from Mulxiply by Tanja Cesh. Kristen and Joe Camp create pottery of strength and elegance. Their collective talents are an exceptional addition to the creative scene in Portland.
“Our collection is designed in Maine, inspired by the Himalayas and made collaboratively by fair-wage artists and craftsmen in Kathmandu, Nepal,” said Cesh.
“Campfire Studio is the collaboration of Kristen & Joe C amp, a husband and wife ceramic, design team centered around creating a collection of ceramic heirlooms, designed to inspire the art of entertaining,” according to the Camps.
The three have done some shows together here in Portland. Prior to that Tanja lived in Los Angeles. When she was in college in California, she worked at a summer camp in mid-coast Maine. She fell in love with the state. For the Camps, they moved here from Atlanta, Ga. to assist in starting up a church in the area.
