It has just been announced this morning that a wake to honor the memory of Joe Lewis has been set for Friday, January 17th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 1024 Broadway, South Portland.
The funeral will be held the following day Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Grace Event Center, 15 Chestunut Street, Portland at 2:00 pm.
Burial plans are private at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis died late last week near India Street after he was struck by a SUV driven by an unidentified woman from Falmouth around noon time. Following the crash, he was transported to Maine Medical Center where he died either late Friday evening or early Saturday morning due to a head injury he sustained during the crash on the east end of Portland.

What a great man we have lost from this world. He was my lawyer but he made me feel like family from day one. My thoughts go out to not only his family but to those he worked with as well and any other person that had the privilege to meet and speak with him. He truly did care and didn’t mind letting you know that he did. Thank you to his family for sharing just a bit of him with the rest of us. He will be dearly missed and those shoes, that he wouldn’t wear while in his office will be difficult to fill. He truly was one of a kind
