Portland police are investigating a home invasion and attempted robbery that occurred at about 9:30 pm last night.  The victims reported that two black men entered their apartment demanding money.  The apartment was occupied by four adults and three children.  The perpetrators were armed with handgun.  One gunshot was fired during the attempted robbery according to a press release issued by the Police Department this afternoon.

No one was injured; a bullet struck the door of another apartment in the building.  The perpetrators fled on foot without taking money.

Both perpetrators are described as black men in their twenties and between 5’7” and 5’ll‘ tall.  One man was bald and the second had cornrows or dreadlocks.
