Power Boat "Sea Legs" Slips Back into Casco Bay from Portland Yacht Services

By Carol McCracken (Post # 868)

City employees were hard at work this morning at the East End Beach area launching some thirty docks that had been hauled and stored there for the duration of the storm Irene. Many of the docks are used at various Islands in Casco Bay and will be replaced there as quickly as possible. The remaining docks are ones that were pulled from the Maine State Pier. Hopefull, they will be replaced by mid-week.

Farther down the waterfront at Portland Yacht Services, crews were starting to relaunch boats that had been hauled last week. One of the first to be relaunched this morning was a power boat Sea Legs. It was one of the last to be hauled Saturday morning. Little damage was done to the docks there. Rob Benson, operations manager, said all but a very few boats will be relaunched this week at “PYS.”
