Mayor Ethan Strimling has issued the following statement in response to the Trump announcement today:

“I stand with the more than 100 Mayors from across this country who have spoken out against repealing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration program.  It’s shameful that the Trump administration feels that this is the appropriate way to proceed with these peoples’ lives.  DACA recipients consider themselves Americans and have done nothing wrong.  They have put their faith in the federal government and are taxpayers who are integral to our economies and communities.  They should be welcome fully into our nation.”
