Today Officer Gayle Petty takes up her new duties as Senior Lead Officer for Sector One which includes the Hill, Kennedy Park and East Bayside.  There are six other sectors in the city. She and six other police officers were promoted to these positions at a press conference last Friday at Police Headquarters.

The program was unveiled by Chief James Craig to enable police officers to work closer with communities in the city and to enhance policing and response time by police. 

Officer Petty’s new phone number is 650-8770. Her email address at which the public can rech her is GayleP@PortlandMaine.gov. She works Tuesday- Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.  If there is an emergency, the public may call dispatch at the non-emergency number 874-8575 or 911. 

Officer Petty further says that “if there is some issue people want to discuss, they need to leave a message so I can call them back, because I don’t answer if I’m busy on another call.”
