As previously announced, the public is invited to attend a neighborhood meeting on the Adams School Condominiums, Moody Street, on the Hill. The meeting will be held at the Cummings Center, l34 Congress Street on the Hill. The meeting runs from 6 pm – 8 pm. This is the former location of the Marada F. Adams elementary school. It was vacated when the East End Community School opened.
There are two issues to be discussed. The first is concerns over the Adams Park/playground. Many of the children in the neighborhood want the monkey bars to be returned to the space. Although the plans for the Park have been finalized, Seth Parker, Avesta Housing, said there might be flexible on this one issue.
The second issue on the agenda is the disposition of most of the remaining property on the site that is not part of the Adams School Condominium.
The meeting was organized by City Councilor Kevin Donoghue, District 1.
In addition, Avesta Housing, has announced there will be an groundbreaking ceremony on September 13, 2012. It runs from noon until 1:30 pm. Details will be forthcoming soon.
