The Bayside Trail Campaign is hosting its first annual (dog friendly) 5K race tomorrow morning. The 1.2 mile long race starts at 9 am at Bell Buoy Park on Commercial and goes the length of the Eastern Promenade Trail. It ends at 11 am behind Trader Joe’s at the Elm Street Plaza. Registration the day of the event is $25. Currently, there are 140 pre-registered for the race.
Motorists should be prepared for minor delays from redirected traffic at the intersections of Franklin Arterial and Marginal Way and Fanklin Arterial and Fox Street during this time. There will also be minor delays where the Bayside Trail intersects with Anderson Street, Cove Street, Diamond Street, Boyd Street and Chestnut Street according to a press release from Rachael Alfond, the event coordinator.
Olympian Joan Benoit Samuelson will be there as well!
