Portland Publilc Library, Rines Auditorium, 5 Monuent Square, Portland Will be the Site of the Franklin Street Project Toward the End of June.
You ae invited to attend two community design workshps for the Reimagining Franklin Street project from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26th at the Portland Public Library, Rines Auditorium, 5 Monument Square.
Each event will give the public multiple chances to engage directly in the redesign of Franklin Street. The workshops build upon the extensive input received by the over 100 attendees at the April 17th Open House at the Library and the over 300 responses to the project survey.
The June 25 workshop invites attendees to share detailed ideas and priorities for a new street design and land use plan through interactive activities. On June 26, the workshop offers attendees a chance to see the street design work in progress and provide important input on its direction.
In addition, residents can meet the project team in-person at Lincoln Park on Wednesday, June 25, from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. Site walk tours along Franklin Street will happen every 15 minutes to provide input to the project team.
The city has contracted with WSP, USA, Inc., a national multi-disciplinary consultant firm to help on this project. Unfortunately, at the April 17, 2025 meeting at the Library, no presentation or introduction of involved participants was given by the host on this long-standing project.
