Pumpkin Carving Time Has Arrived Here in Portland

The Fourth Annual Pumpkin Carving party is currently taking place at Congress Square Park.  It runs from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  Cider and donuts are available.  The crowd is large and the fun is large as well!

You may bring your own pumpkin or pay what you can for one at the event.  Judges will be artists from Bomb Diggity Arts.  If you miss this contest, don’t despair!  There is another contest on the way close by.

Maine Craft Portland, 521 Congress Street, has announced it’s first annual pumpkin carving contest.  A grand prize of $100. will be awarded to the winner. There will be a gift certificate to Maine Craft Portland as well. All carved pumpkins will be on exhibit throughout gallery windows – starting October 29th until Hallows Eve!

The contest rules are as follows:  Pumpkin body can not be larger than 20″,  no painting allowed on pumpkin body, must come with 4 battery operated tea-lights (batteries included!); all carved pumpkins to be delivered no earlier or later than October 28th between 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.  They should be delivered to Maine Craft Portland, 521 Congress Street, Portland.  (Please include your name, email and phone number on paper inside of your pumpkin)
