Portland’s Next Police Chief Announced This Morning by City Hall

Mark Dubois has been selected to serve as Portland’s next police chief following the retirement of Portland’s  current Interim Police Chief according to a press release issued by city hall this morning.  Dubois needs to be confirmed by the city council in its upcomig Monday, June 26 meetig.

Dubois is currently the chief of police in Braintree, Massachusetts, a position he has held since 2019.  Previously he served as chief of police in Maynard, Massachusetts for seven years.  If confirmed by the city council, he will begin his serivce in Portland on Monday, July 31, 2023.

He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the New England Law School as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State College.

His salary will be $165,000 annually.  Until Dubois assumes his post if confirmed by the city council on Monday, Major Robert Martin will serve as Interim Police Chief.  Please visit previous post herein for more information on that appointdment.
